With the Champions League final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich taking place on Saturday evening, BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch takes a look back at Town’s days in Europe (Saturday, midday to 2pm). Joining regulars Mark Murphy, Kevin Beattie and TWTD’s Phil Ham will be David Houseley, co-author of On a European Journey: With Ipswich Town in Europe 1962-2002, former Dribble! editor, Supporters Trust committee member and local councillor Alasdair Ross, Sky Sports main man Jeff Stelling and probably one or two other guests. |

Various Blues legends of the past will be back in action at Portman Road on Sunday 27th May in a charity match raising funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation (KO 3pm). Mick Mills will be in charge of the Milsoms’ Maestros, a side representing the local hotel and restaurant group, as they take on the Wheeler Wine Masters, a team from The Colchester Wine Company, managed by George Burley. |

David Nugent scored his usual goal at Portman Road as Leicester came from a goal behind to beat the Blues 2-1 and inflict their first home defeat since January 2nd. Jason Scotland put the Blues deservedly in front in the 43rd minute but soon after Ben Marshall’s freekick went through both wall and Arran Lee-Barrett with Nugent heading in the winner in a second half dominated by the visitors. |

Trevor Whymark and Eric Gates were amongst those inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame at Friday night’s ex-players’ dinner. Also added were Sir Alf Ramsey’s coach Jimmy Forsyth and former player Basil Acres, who both picked up posthumous Special Merit Awards. |

Town snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in the closing moments for the second week running as Reading left Portman Road with a 3-2 win. Daryl Murphy opened the scoring 11 minutes after the break, Kaspars Gorkss equalised for the Royals before Josh Carson’s deflected shot put the Blues back in front. Town looked to have won it but Alex Pearce and Noel Hunt netted at the death to see the Blues to their third successive 3-2 defeat. |
